Change of Leadership
Venlo, 6 January 2025: Brightlabs B.V. today announces that its founder Mr Bart Kuijpers steps down as General Manager and that he will be succeeded by Mr Marcel Langoor who has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Bart remains shareholder of the company and stays actively involved as Chief Technology Officer.
The company’s other shareholders are grateful for everything that Bart has accomplished and are confident that as CTO he will be instrumental in strengthening the technical competencies of the team which in turn will catalyze further growth in solving complex analytical challenges for Brightlabs’ customers.
Bart stated “The past 10 years have been a fantastic journey. Starting Brightlabs from scratch with no laboratory space, to 30+ fantastic employees and an extensive number of high-end analytical chemistry instruments. Brightlabs is now ready for a next phase and I am happy that Marcel has become part of
our team to lead Brightlabs through this next phase.”
On his appointment Marcel commented “I am excited to work with the talented team of Brightlabs. In the recent past Bart impressed me with what he has built in terms of systems and technologies, so I am happy that he continues to further drive the technology side of the company. Moreover, I am looking forward to collaborate with the commercial team to accellerate the business growth of the company.”
Marcel obtained a PhD in chemistry from Utrecht University and spent more than two decades in the biopharmaceutical contract testing and CDMO space. He held various roles with increasing scope and responsibility in smaller companies such as PROXY Laboratories (Leiden) and in the large corporate organizations Eurofins (Leiden) and Lonza (Basel). In addition, he was a consultant, e.g. in commercial roles for cell & gene technology contract labs, and in program management roles for a small molecules CDMO and a drug development company.
